Research topics

My researchs focus on imagery. I tend to develop a combinatorial and discrete approach of imagery. My goal is to provide a complete discret framework to model, analyze and represent digital images. In particular, I'm interested in the definition of a formal digital model of image, in regions segmentation by combinatorial and statistical algorithms, and in the characterization the results by topological data structures and digital geometry features.

In Digital Geometry, I studied digital topology in order to have a consistent model to work with. Now, I'm studying digital geometry features such as digital planarity or curvature.

In Image Analysis, I studied combinatorial maps as a graph structure to represent segmented image. I proposed to use Union-Find algorithms to segment images efficiently. Now, I am working on statistical merging criteria for these algorithms.

I am also partially involved in the ICAR project of the LIRMM and so interested partially in crypto-data hiding in images. I also have interests in computational complexity, computer arithmetic, cryptography, graph theory and many others in computer science and mathematics...

Arith team project Imprimer Envoyer

Topics

Arith team works on numeration, cryptography, digital geometry, combinatorial imagery from an arithmetical point of view. This approach makes  the originality of this group. We use characteristics of different systems of numbers in order to obtain efficient implementation (hardware or software), in particular in cryptography. The coding system we use comes from words combinatoric or dynamic symbolic, which ensure us a fair theoretical background. Arithmetic and word combinatoric are also useful to find new approaches in digital geometry and in particular for digital plane, surface and curve modeling.
